Fairtrade - #WhoMadeMyClothes
The problem
The fast fashion industry has some serious issues to address. In 2012, a factory that manufactures garments for top fashion brands in Dhaka caught fire. The fire, that could be avoided by precautions, ended up killing 117 people - Many of Whom were women and children. In order to raise awareness about the fast fashion industry, Fairtrade wanted to engage influencers.
The solution
Using the Aflog ecosystem, Fairtrade shortlisted creators from the fashion domain who understood the problems. The creators in return posted content where they held placards that asked their followers if they knew ‘WHOMADEMYCLOTHES’.
The results
The NGO raised tremendous awareness from the campaign. The campaign was also picked up by the country’s biggest newspapers. The idea of using influencers to spread awareness to the general public worked well as a PR strategy.
